Preface: This article covers the main power requirements for your Thunder Laser. It is your responsibility to properly install a Local Code Compliant power feed for the machine. Nothing in this guide will supersede a Local Jurisdiction and you should consult a Licensed Electrician if you need further clarification about your specific setup.
IF you apply the improper voltage to your machine and damage components, the warranty does not cover the damage. Please pay attention to the voltage requirements. Most machines are 120v Except the Titan and Nova Plus units with 100W or higher RF tubes.
Power Requirements:
As of Feb, 2025. Previous configurations may differ. Surge Protectors\Power Strips
We don't typically prescribe the use of any surge protectors, etc... and many 'off the shelf' ones can cause issueshere is more on that: Plug Strips & Surge ProtectorsGFCI Type Receptacles
We don't typically prescribe the use of any GFCI protection on the Nova series Machines as the 30,000v and water running through the tube often false the GFCI into tripping. They usually end up being removed. For the ODIN, Bolt and Aurora series the concern of the Electrical Current hopping through the water is not present.Generators
Thunder Lasers can be powered from properly sized and configured generators. The generator should be able of providing full load power for the machine and any peripherals attached to it.
