Every laser cuts differently. These are the numbers we run.
Most settings charts floating around were made on someone else’s machine, at someone else’s focus, on material from a different supplier. Ours were run on Thunder machines at each wattage and saved straight out of LightBurn. What you load is what we ran.
What is actually in the file.
Tested power, speed and interval
Every entry carries the real numbers: percent power, travel speed in mm/s, and line interval in millimetres — plus frequency on the materials that need it, like glass, rubber and silicone. Cut entries and engrave entries both.
It loads in about ten seconds
In LightBurn: Window → Library, click Load, pick the .clb. Every material appears in the panel. Select a layer, click the material, click Assign, and the settings drop into your job.
A PDF for the bench
The same data as a printable chart, so you can mark it up, hand it to whoever runs the next job, and keep a record of what you changed on your machine.

Acrylic and hardwood are what most shops live on, but the library goes wider than that. This is the full list, and it is the same list whether you run 60, 80, 100 or 130 watts.
Do not see your exact material? That is what the free sample is for. Mail us a few pieces and we will run it and send back the settings we used.
One thing we will not cut: PVC or anything PVC-based. It releases chlorine gas that corrodes the machine from the inside and is genuinely dangerous to breathe. That rules out Kydex, vinyl and most faux leathers. It is not in the library on purpose.

Not sure it will cut? Mail it to us. Free.
No settings chart tells you what your own sheet looks like coming off the machine. So we will run it for you. Send the material, we cut or engrave it, and it goes back with the exact settings we used.

Mail us a few pieces.
Send a few pieces of the actual material, not a finished item, to our shop in Quitman, Texas. Include a note with your name and email.

We run it and send it back.
You get your sample back with the exact settings we used. No cost, no pressure.
Send a few pieces, not just one. We do not know the perfect settings for every material and finish on sight, so a few pieces give us room to dial it in and show the best the machine can really do.
Only send material you are okay with us using up. Samples are for testing, so treat anything you send as something we may consume getting the settings right. Send a piece of your material, not a finished firearm or a finished award.
FAQs
Will this work on my machine?
Yes, if you pick the matching library. We keep a separate one for each machine: 40, 60, 80, 100 and 130 watt CO2, plus the Aurora Lite 50W galvo and the Odin 32 55W RF. Choose your wattage on the form and that is the file you get.
Are these settings guaranteed to work?
No, and we would not trust anyone who told you otherwise. They are tested starting points. Tube age, lens condition, focus, humidity and the specific sheet you bought all move the result. Run a test cut on an offcut before you commit a real part, then save what worked back into the library. The file is yours to edit.
Do I need LightBurn to use it?
The .clb is a LightBurn library file, so yes for that half. The PDF is just a PDF — if you run RDWorks or something else, the power, speed and interval numbers still transfer, you just enter them by hand.
What is actually different between the wattages?
Mostly speed, not capability. A 130W cuts the same acrylic faster and thicker than a 60W, so the same material carries different numbers in each file. That is exactly why we do not ship one library for every machine.
I do not own a Thunder laser. Can I still use it?
You can, but the numbers assume a Thunder machine and a Thunder tube. On another brand treat the file as a reference for the ratios rather than something to load and run. Start low and test.
What do you do with my email?
We email you the library, and after that you hear from us occasionally about laser work. Unsubscribe is one click and we do not sell your address. If you asked about a sample, someone will follow up on that too.
