Boss Laser publishes a comparison page about us, so it is only fair we publish one about them. Here is the deal: we are not going to tell you Boss makes a bad machine, because they do not. On warranty we are level — they publish two years on their CO2 line and so do we. What follows is where we build differently, and there is a section near the bottom on where Boss is the better call.
THE TUBE — Every One Ships Over Its Rated Power
Every Thunder Laser tube has to measure at least 10% over its stated wattage before it leaves QC. A 100-watt machine has to test at 110 watts to pass inspection. We would rather build in headroom than sell you the number on the sticker.
Why it matters: a tube that quietly under-delivers costs you a slower pass, or a second pass, on every job for the life of the machine. You do not notice it on day one. You notice it in your throughput a year in.
THE BUILD — Rails We Fabricate Ourselves
Thunder fabricates its own rail system, because no third-party supplier met the standard we wanted. Wider, thicker, more precise. The gantry rides those rails all day, every day — industrial-grade rails are why the machines hold their alignment.

Boss figures are taken from bosslaser.com — their Warranty & Guarantee page and their Tiered Training Program page — checked August 2026. Their published warranty also lists one year on the laser tube. “Not listed” means we could not find it published on their site, not that it does not exist. Thunder's tube standard is our own manufacturing spec. If we have something wrong here, tell us and we will correct it.
WHERE BOSS WINS
Boss runs a Florida facility with a training centre, and if you want to stand in a building and watch your material get cut before you spend the money, that is a real advantage and we are not going to talk you out of it. They also publish a 30-day money-back window. We do not.

FAQ's
Is Thunder made in the USA?
No. Our machines are manufactured overseas and are supported, stocked and serviced from Texas. If country of manufacture matters to you, ask every vendor you are considering to put it in writing, and ask specifically where the frame, tube, controller and optics each come from. It is a fair question and you should get a straight answer from all of us, including us.
Who has the better warranty?
Neither of us. Boss publishes two years on their CO2 LS and HP series, and we publish two years on ours. Anyone telling you otherwise has not read both pages. Their published terms do list one year on the laser tube, so if that matters to you, ask us both what our coverage includes.
Do both run LightBurn?
Yes. Both. Ours is included with the machine and there is no subscription.
Is Boss more expensive?
Compare current configured quotes for the exact machines you are choosing between. Both lines span a wide range and promotions move constantly, so any number we printed here would be out of date by the time you read it.
Why should I believe a comparison written by you?
