How To Replace The Small X Axis Belt Loop
Learn how to identify and replace the small X axis belt loop on your Thunder Laser, including tension adjustment steps and reference links.
The small X axis belt can sometimes become 'noisy' enough to warrant replacing. This is often mistaken for bearing noise.
This noise will sounds like squeaking, growling, like a bearing. But the bearings are likely okay and no lubrication is required here.

This belt usually gets changed for that reason and not due to a critical failure. There is sometimes a spare belt in the toolbox that came with your laser.
Here is how to replace it:
Gauge the belt tension prior to beginning the process and take some pics of the assembly for reference, just in case.

Loosen 4 motor mounting bolts:
The 4 bolts (A) are accessed from the bottom side

Adjust tension screw to remove belt:
Turn tension screw (B) counter-clockwise until there is enough slack to remove the belt

Install new belt:
Remove the old belt and replace with the new one

Tighten the tension adjustment screw:
Adjust the tension screw clockwise until the belt is properly tensioned

Tighten the 4 motor bolts:
Tighten the 4 motor screws to lock it down
