Iradion RF Tube and Fan Control Board: Ports, Wiring, and LED Indicators

Reference guide for Iradion RF tube signal wiring, LED status indicators, and fan board lights on Thunder series machines with v2.7+ fanboards.

Quick answer: Use this reference to identify the correct wiring pins, interpret LED status lights on the Iradion tube, and read fan board indicator lights — all useful when diagnosing tube or firing faults.

Applies to: Thunder series machines with v2.7 and newer fanboards equipped with an Iradion RF laser tube.  You'll need: Access to the tube comm port and fan board.

Thunder series machines with v2.7 and newer fanboards use fault signals from the tube to display alarms on the control screen. The laser tube also has LED status indicators that show its current state. Use the sections below to interpret both.

The following images show the tube comm port and the Thunder Laser wiring from the fan board to the tube.

Thunder Laser uses the following pins (DB15/HD-15):

Pin (DB15/HD-15) Wire Color Function
3 Brown PWM Signal Low
4 White Orange PWM Signal High
5 White Green Ready Signal
7 Blue Fault Signal
13 White Brown Enable Signal
14 White Blue Ground

The following is from the Iradion Manual showing the LED lights and what they indicate.
