Built for hunting and archery makers

Engrave the call. Cut the grips. Mark the broadhead. In your own shop.

Game calls, bow and arrow builds, knife handles, cases, and gift and trophy work, engraved and cut clean in wood, leather, acrylic, and antler. Add a fiber and you mark broadheads, tools, and hardware in metal too. One bench brings the personalization you keep sending out back under your own roof, from your own art, the same day the order comes in.

Most hunting and archery makers start with the Nova Plus, starting at $8,350.

US support from coast to coast and over 1,000 five-star reviews on Trustpilot.

The bottleneck

The personalizing that makes your work sell is the part you keep paying someone else to do.

A hunter wants his name on the call, his kids’ initials on the knife, the harvest date on the arrow shelf. That custom touch is where the margin lives, and for most shops it is the one step that leaves the building. You send art to an engraving shop and wait, or you rent time on a friend’s machine, or you turn the order down. Then fall hits and the orders stack up all at once. Season is short, demand is not steady, and the outside shop is buried in everyone else’s Christmas rush right when you need yours. The other trap is one tool per material: a router for wood, a stamp for leather, a separate outfit for the metal broadhead mark. Every material is a different handoff and a different wait. A laser bench pulls all of it back onto your own floor, so the personalizing you used to farm out becomes something you do the same day the order comes in.

One bench turns personalization from a cost you pay out into margin you keep.

Bring the engraving and cutting in-house and the numbers move in your favor fast. You stop paying an outside shop’s markup on every custom order, you quit waiting on someone else’s queue during the fall rush, and the upcharge a customer happily pays for his name on the call stays with you. It also lets you say yes to work you used to pass on, the one-off memorial knife, the small batch of engraved calls for an outfitter, the rush order the week before opening day, because the machine is sitting right there. For a lot of shops this one bench is the difference between quoting a custom job and actually taking it.

✓

Clean detail on the materials you already run

Wood, leather, acrylic, and antler take a sharp, permanent laser mark with no sanding, no burnt edges, and no hand tooling. Fine game-call checkering, a crisp logo on a leather sheath, a name down an arrow shelf, the same every time, straight from your art.

◉

Cut and engrave from one file

The same machine cuts the acrylic sight window or the leather blank and then engraves the detail on it, in one pass off one file. Build the part and finish it on the same bench instead of moving it between tools and shops.

⇅

Fill the fall rush without the outside shop

When season hits and the custom orders land all at once, the machine runs while you keep building. Batch a run of personalized calls or cases overnight, turn a rush order the same day, and stop losing the sale because the engraver across town is buried.

Materials

Wood and leather are the heart of it. The lineup handles the rest.

Most of what a hunting or archery shop runs is wood and leather, call barrels and knife scales on one side, sheaths, belts, and cases on the other. A CO2 laser cuts and engraves both clean, plus acrylic and real antler and horn. Add a fiber and you mark metal broadheads, tools, and hardware too.

Not sure how your walnut, your veg-tan leather, or that antler-look acrylic will take the mark or the cut? That is what the free sample is for. Send a few pieces of your real material, blanks, offcuts, or drops, and we will run them and tell you straight whether it is a good fit.

A short list we will not run, because a couple of common shop materials put toxic fume in the air.

No PVC or vinylNo ABSNo faux leather unless you can confirm it is not PVCNo polycarbonate

PVC and vinyl release hydrogen chloride, which is toxic to you and corrosive to the machine, and ABS releases hydrogen cyanide. Both are a hard no. A lot of cheap faux leather and leatherette is secretly PVC, so if you cannot confirm what it is, treat it as a no until you can. Polycarbonate browns and does not cut clean. Real veg-tan leather, wood, acrylic, and antler all run beautifully. When in doubt, we would rather tell you the truth about a material than sell you a result we cannot stand behind.

What gets built

Everything a hunting and archery shop sells, personalized and finished on one bench.

Game calls, custom knife handles and sheaths, arrow shelves and bow risers, cases and display boxes, gifts, plaques, and trophy mounts. The same machine that cuts the blank engraves the name, the logo, or the harvest date on it, so the custom order leaves your shop finished.

The machine

Four series, one honest recommendation.

Most hunting and archery work is wood, leather, and acrylic, which is CO2 territory, with metal broadhead and hardware marking as the add-on. Here is the whole lineup, with the series we point most outdoor makers to called out first. We will tell you straight which one your work actually needs.

Also recommended

Aurora

The metal add-on. Deep, permanent marks on broadheads, blades, tools, and hardware in stainless, aluminum, and titanium, the one thing a CO2 laser cannot do. Add it alongside a Nova Plus when your work runs into metal.

Starting at $4,795 (Aurora Lite fiber). MOPA from $11,000.

Our #1 for hunting & archery

Nova Plus

The versatile workhorse and the machine most outdoor makers start with. Cuts and engraves wood, leather, acrylic, and antler clean, with an overhead camera and rotary so you can wrap engraving around a call barrel, an arrow, or a tumbler. This is the one that does most of your work.

The high-detail specialist

Bolt

The engraving specialist. Fast, high-detail work on a compact bed, a strong fit when most of what you make is finely engraved calls, knife scales, and personalized tumblers and you care more about speed and crisp detail than a large cutting area.

Starting at $5,795

The production step-up

Titan

The production step-up. A 220v machine on the premium tube with the fastest engraving in the lineup, built to run hard all day for when the fall rush outgrows your Nova Plus and you need to push more volume out the door.

Starting at $16,250
View Titan →

All four run on a standard 110v outlet except the Titan, which is the 220v production step-up. Every machine ships nationwide on a liftgate truck with the LightBurn software included (licensed for two computers, the computer is yours), one free hour of remote training, US support from coast to coast, and a 2 year machine warranty. A CO2 machine surface-marks bare metal only with a marking spray, so for real depth on broadheads and hardware you add the Aurora fiber, and the Thunder Air 700 handles fume in-house with no outside duct. Why hunting and archery makers choose Thunder Laser

Straight prices, honest advice, and a machine that pays for itself in custom work.

We publish our prices

No rep, no quote runaround, no “call for pricing.” Every machine price is right on the page. What you see is what it costs, financing is there through Geneva Capital if you want it, and the sample that proves it works on your material is free.

◆

We tell you which machine your work needs

Most outdoor makers need a CO2 for wood and leather, not the priciest machine on the page. If your work never touches metal, we will tell you to skip the fiber. If it does, we will tell you exactly what to add. A shop that only pushes its top machine is not advising you.

☑

Built to earn its keep in custom work

The upcharge on a personalized call or an engraved knife is real money, and this machine lets you keep it instead of paying it out. Clean, repeatable engraving straight from your art, backed by US support from coast to coast and a 2 year machine warranty.

You are not just buying a laser. You are buying the people behind it.

★★★★★Over 1,000 five-star reviews on Trustpilot

US support, coast to coast, from people who actually run these machines.

When you bet a production step on a machine, the real question is not just whether it marks clean. It is who is actually in your corner when something goes sideways at 2pm on a Thursday with a shipment on the line. With Thunder Laser that is a real US-based team, coast to coast, that knows these machines inside out, not an overseas ticket queue and not a reseller who has never run one.

More than a thousand owners have said exactly that in five-star reviews. You start with one free hour of remote training, every machine carries a 2 year warranty, and you get straight answers, including when the answer is no. Buy the machine, and you are buying the shop that stands behind it.

Mail us your own material and we mark it free, then send it back with the settings, so you see it work before you buy.
The offer

See it run on your own material. Free.

No spec sheet tells you how your walnut, your veg-tan leather, or your antler-look acrylic takes the engraving or the cut. So we will just show you. This is a free sample to show what the machine can do, its quality and its detail. It is not a production run, and we do not take in finished goods or fill orders.

1

Tell us your material

On the short form, tell us your material and the simple engraving or cut you want to see, within reason, so we can confirm it is a good fit and laser safe before we run it.

2

Mail us a few pieces

Send a few pieces of your actual material to our shop. We will send the address. Wood blanks, leather scraps, acrylic offcuts, or a piece of your broadhead stock, a piece of your material, not a finished product.

3

We run it and send it back

You get your sample back with the exact settings we used, so you can see the detail in your own hands before you spend a dime. No cost, no pressure.

Send a few pieces, not just one. We do not know the perfect settings for every wood, hide, and acrylic on sight, so a few pieces give us room to dial it in and show the best the machine can really do.

Only send material you are okay with us using up. Samples are for testing, so treat anything you send as something we may consume getting the settings right. Send raw, nameable material, and never faux leather or vinyl you cannot confirm is PVC free.

Straight answers

Hunting and archery questions, answered straight.

What materials can it cut and engrave, and what will it not run?
A CO2 machine cuts and engraves wood, veg-tan leather, acrylic, real antler and horn, cork, and most non-metals clean, which covers the bulk of hunting and archery work. What we will not run is PVC and vinyl, which release hydrogen chloride, and ABS, which releases hydrogen cyanide, both toxic and corrosive. A lot of cheap faux leather is secretly PVC, so confirm what it is before you cut it. Not sure about your specific stock? Send a few pieces for a free sample and we will tell you straight.
Can it mark metal broadheads, blades, and hardware?
A CO2 machine can only surface-mark bare metal with a marking spray, which is a coating on top, not real depth. For a permanent, deep mark on stainless, aluminum, or titanium broadheads, blades, tools, and hardware, you add an Aurora fiber alongside your CO2. A lot of shops start with the Nova Plus for the wood and leather work and add the fiber later when the metal work grows. Tell us what you want to mark and we will point you to the right combination.
Can I personalize a call barrel, an arrow, or a tumbler that is round?
Yes. The Nova Plus and Bolt are rotary capable, so a rotary attachment turns the piece under the laser and wraps engraving all the way around a call barrel, an arrow shaft, a knife handle, or a tumbler. The overhead camera also lets you drop your art right onto an odd-shaped blank on screen and line it up before you run it, which is a real time saver on one-off custom orders.
Can I run custom one-offs and batches without redoing the setup every time?
That is where a laser earns its keep. Your art lives in a file, so a one-off memorial knife and a batch of fifty matching calls come off the same setup, and you can save and reuse a design the second a repeat customer calls. No new stamp, no new jig, no re-tooling. Line up a batch and the machine runs it while you keep building at the bench.
How permanent is the engraving, and will it look hand-done?
A laser mark is burned into the material, not printed on top, so it does not rub off, wash out, or peel like ink or a sticker. On wood and leather you get crisp, consistent detail with clean edges every time, sharper and more repeatable than a router or a hand stamp, and you set the depth and darkness to match the look you want. The best way to judge it is in your own hands, which is what the free sample is for.
What power and space do I need, and can I finance it?
The Nova Plus, Bolt, and Aurora all run on a standard 110v wall outlet and fit a normal shop or garage footprint; the Titan is the 220v production step-up. You will want fume extraction, and our Thunder Air 700 handles that in-house with no outside duct, which matters if you work out of a home shop. Lead times vary and we often have machines in stock. Many makers finance through Geneva Capital, and there is a small discount for paying in full by check or bank transfer. Every machine ships nationwide on a liftgate truck with US support from coast to coast and one free hour of remote training.
